Newport Lacrosse COVID-19 Guidelines

Newport Lacrosse is dedicated to allowing our players to return to the field. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our players, families and coaches.
We continue to live in challenging times. While many of our players, coaches, and families have been able to receive COVID vaccinations, that is not the case for everyone. In particular, our players under the age of 12 are not vaccinated. NLAX continues to remain focused on the health and well-being of everyone in our organization and community.
Current COVID Procedures
As of now, the BSD is not requiring temperature checks or health attestations. NLAX will follow their lead, however we will continue to enforce our mask policy – All players, coaches, volunteers, and spectators are expected to wear a cloth or surgical face mask while attending NLAX events. Also, it is critical that we are able to document attendance for all NLAX events in the event of a known COVID exposure. Please use the Team Snap app to indicate your (or your child’s) attendance at each NLAX event.
- Face Masks: At this time, Newport Lacrosse continues to require athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators to wear cloth or surgical masks. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.
- Travel Recommendations:
Quarntine is no longer required for vaccinated travelers.People who are not vaccinated are required to follow the CDC Travel Guidelines:
– Get tested with a aviral test 3-5 days after you travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after you travel (even if you test negative). If you do not get testing, you should stay home and self-quarantine for a full 10 days after travel.

- Spectators: There are currently no limitations on the numbers of spectators at our fields. We ask that people follow social distancing guidelines and keep appropriate distance for others, particularly those outside of your immediate household.
What if there is a COVID Exposure on the Team?
In the event of a confirmed COVID infection at one of our events, anyone in attendance will be notified via email of the potential exposure. If your family should receive such a notification, and you are not told by the coaches that your child was in “close contact” to the infected person, no further action is needed (other than to observe for symptoms.).
If your child is determined to have been in “close contact” with the COVID infected person (defined as within less than 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes in a 24-hour period), NLAX recommends that your child undergo COVID testing 3-5 days after exposure, and isolate if the test is positive. NLAX will require a negative test to return the following week, or if you are unable/unwilling to get tested, you will be asked to stay home for a full 14 days after the known exposure. (* Any players known to be in “close contact” with the infected person will be contact directly by NLAX.)
Where Can I Get Testing?
In the event you or your family members need to obtain a COVID test, one option for rapid testing in Bellevue is GS Labs. (They obtain both rapid and PCR testing simultaneously.) There is no direct charge, although they do ask for your insurance information. They have also suggested that you register with them in advance so that you can more rapidly book a testing appointment if the need arises. GS Labs’ website:
