Newport Lacrosse is dedicated to providing a positive athletic experience while fielding competitive teams at all levels. Our coaches, parents and volunteers are committed to developing each player’s character, while teaching leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, physical, and mental endurance.

2025 Spring Season

We are excited for our lacrosse schedule this spring.  We will be fielding teams for the K-2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, High School levels!  We are looking to grow our club even more and be able to field teams at all levels next year.  Please tell your friends, neighbors, and classmates about the great sport of lacrosse, and invite them to join us this spring!
 

Youth K-2

Our Kindergarten through second grade (K-2) program focuses on fundamental skills and fun for student athletes!
    • Practices (Feb 24 – Mar 8): Tuesday & Wednesday 6pm – 7pm & Saturday 9am – 10am (Newport High School)
      Practices (Mar 9 – May 24):       Tuesday & Thursday 5:30pm – 6:30pm (Tyee Middle School Baseball Field)
    • Greater Eastside Lacrosse League (GELL) Games: Saturday
    • Season Dates: Late February 2025 to May 2025
    • Cost: $195 before December 31st (early registration), $225 after January 1st

Youth 3/4

Our 3/4 program focuses on fundamental skills and the introduction of team offense and team defense. At this level, games are played on reduced field size with fewer players on the field. This increases focus on player skill development and provides more opportunities to score goals and make saves!
    • Practices (Feb 4 – Mar 8): Tuesday & Wednesday 6pm – 7:30pm & Saturday 9am – 10:30am (Newport High School)
      Practices (Mar 9 – May 24): Tuesday & Thursday 5:30pm – 7:00pm (Tyee Middle School Baseball Field)
    • Greater Eastside Lacrosse League (GELL) Games: Saturday
    • Season Dates: Late January 2025 to May 2025
    • Cost: $375 before December 31st (early registration), $425 after January 1st

Youth 5/6

Our 5/6 program focuses on fundamentals and the development of multiple team offense and defense concepts. At this level, we step up to full-size fields and full-sided 10 vs 10 player games.
    • Practices (Feb 24 – Mar 8): Tuesday & Wednesday 6pm – 7:30pm & Saturday 10:30am – 12pm (Newport High School)
      Practices (Mar 9 – May 24): Tuesday & Thursday & Friday 5:30pm – 7:00pm (Tyee Middle School Soccer Field)
    • Greater Eastside Lacrosse League (GELL) Games: Saturday
    • Season Dates: Late January 2025 to May 2025
    • Cost: $495 before December 31st (early registration), $550 after January 1st

Youth 7/8

Our 7/8 program becomes more competitive while still developing fundamentals and multiple team concepts. Players will be divided evenly between teams based on skills evaluation during the initial practices.

    • Practices (Feb 24 – Mar 8): Tuesday & Wednesday 6pm – 7:30pm & Saturday 10:30am – 12pm (Newport High School)
      Practices (Mar 9 – May 24): Tuesday & Thursday & Friday 6pm – 7:30pm (Tyee Middle School Soccer Field)

High School

Newport Lacrosse is a 4A WHSBLA program providing Varsity and JV opportunities for 9th – 12th grade boys. This year our high school teams will play in the KingCo 4A Conference of the WHSBLA (Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association).

    • The first official practice is around end of February. The practice will be Monday thru Friday 6:30 – 9:00pm, with a few Saturday morning practices early in the season. A complete schedule will be issued once games have been scheduled.
    • Games will start in March and will go through June as determined by WHSBLA Playoffs.
    • As a NHS Student Athlete, you must also register for Lacrosse on Final Forms. Once Final Forms registration has open, you will receive an email with the registration information. Please note that our Base Cost does not include the ASB fee upon registering for Final Forms. You will pay your ASB fee through the school, not through NLax.

USA Lacrosse Membership: You need to have an active USA Lacrosse membership to participate in the program (annual fee $35). This membership covers the insurance to play the sport (insurance policy protects participants, bystanders, and property from injury). You can obtain the membership from this LINK.
